NARWHAL NEWS
Dec. 23, 2009: It's been quite a year. A big thank you to everyone for buying the book for the holidays (it sold out at McPhee.com)!!! The book is also now available at Magic Mouse Toys in Seattle.
If you are so inclinded, please go to Amazon to leave a review!
Aug. 5, 2009: The book is now available in Seattle at Elliott Bay Book Co. and Portage Bay Goods. You can also find a copy in Maine at the Peary-MacMillan Arctic Museum Gift Shop!
April 29, 2009: We got our first rejection letter! The publisher even included a short critique to explain why we were denied. Their comments under the heading, "Concept" are too great not to share: "Yetis and narwhals are certainly interesting creatures. However the main question of whether narwhals have blowholes isn't a compelling mystery. Plus the addition of lemmings to spur the conclusion seems arbitrary." We couldn't agree more. That's kinda the point. Oh well, not everyone appreciates the absurd and arbitrary.
Jan. 4, 2009: We've sold through the first edition and just received the second in the mail. Thanks to all the bloggers out there for helping us get the word out.
Check out the good folks talking about the book: BuzzFeed, NOTCOT, Tapirs Poop, Archie McPhee
Dec. 6, 2008: The book was released at a gallery in Seattle to friends, family and above average children. It was a resounding success as the authors sold and singed limited edition hardbacks, first edition paperbacks and sold a few prints as well. If you missed the opening, not to worry. A friend captured the reading of the story on his camera phone and posted it on youtube.com. |
